Ir. Malek Pisol Md Saad has been appointed as the Chairman of Daya Bersih Sdn Bhd effective September 2020. Prior to joining the firm, Ir. Malek had a three-year stint as Director of Daya Bersih Sdn Bhd from year 2017 until 2020.
Ir. Malek graduated with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (Hons.) and Master of Science Engineering (Electrical) from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. He started his career as Communication Engineer for Telekom Malaysia Berhad back in 1992. In 1993, he joint Unit Perunding Universiti Malaya as a design engineer and involved in detail design, manage project and site coordination for the upgrading of M&E Systems project under the Faculty of Engineering University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. Ir. Malek joined Nusareka Jurutera Consultant Sdn Bhd in 1995 as an electrical engineer. His responsibilities include establishment of design concept, reviewing of detailed design completed by design engineers, obtaining approval from approving authorities, and overseeing of services implementation of Electrical System for Culture Hall at Ipoh,Perak, Upgrading of Hockey Stadium at Jalan Pantai, Kuala Lumpur and others.
In 1996, he joined Iktisas Ingenieurs Sdn Bhd as Senior Electrical Engineer in 1996. One of his major achievements was the involvement in Sepang International Formula One Racing Circuit (SIC). Moreover, he was also involved in several of other projects such as MAS Resort Hotel, Tg. Rhu Langkawi, Kedah, the World Business Park, Shah Alam, Selangor and many others. In 2000, Ir. Malek joined Wan Mohamed & Khoo Sdn Bhd as Senior Electrical Engineer. He was involved in designing 33kV Sub-Station and equipment at Telekom Complex and Telekom Centre, Cyberjaya, Sepang, Internet Data Centre (IDC) at CBJ1, Telekom Centre Cyberjaya, Sepang, Selangor and others.
With over a decade of regulatory experience in consultancy field, Ir. Malek formed Mechylite Consult Sdn Bhd in 2001 as Managing Director to promote his ideas, knowledge and experience and contributed to the industry. He is responsible for the overall management of the company as such he undertakes the planning, management and supervision of the design of electrical works for the firm. Ir Malek is one of Panel Interviewer of The Institute of Engineers, Malaysia for Professional Engineers (PE) candidates.
In light of the current demanding state of global energy sector, Ir Malek has taken the opportunity to involve in green technology sector; renewable energy. He involved in Solar PV System started with a 2MW Rooftop Integrated PV Project in Batang Berjuntai, 8MW FIT Solar in Jasin, Melaka and then 30MW LSS PV in Bidor, Perak. He also involved in 3MW Mini Hydro Generating Plant in Bidor, Perak in 2019.
Mohamad Nasir bin Kama is currently the Deputy Finance Director at the Finance Division of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and has been serving for the last 20 years. He is currently heading the Business Development Unit of the Finance Division and responsible for formulating business plans, evaluating and analysing IIUM projects, and aligning financial sustainability initiatives with the IIUM strategic plan. Among his tasks include advising and monitoring wealth creation projects, cost-saving projects, and resource optimization projects. Mohamad Nasir graduated from the International Islamic University Malaysia with a Bachelor (Hons.) of Accounting. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from the International Islamic University Malaysia.
Mohamad Nasir started his career as the Purchasing Manager who was responsible for managing procurement activities, contracts, and vendor management in the early of the year 2000 at the International Islamic University Malaysia. He was appointed as the Financial Accountant at the Finance Division in the year 2003. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). In 2010, he was appointed as the Senior Manager of the Compliance Unit and two years later in 2012, promoted as the Deputy Finance Director who was in charge of the Procurement and Asset Management Unit.
In the year 2014, Mohamad Nasir was appointed to spearhead the Energy Efficiency and Saving Project at International Islamic University Malaysia that was successfully implemented in collaboration with a wholly-owned subsidiary of Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Cenergi South East Asia Sdn Bhd. From 2016 until 2018, he was appointed as the Board of Directors for IIUM Higher Education Sdn. Bhd. (iHESB).
The Chief Executive Officer
Hairul Nizam Hamzah is the Chief Executive Officer of Daya Bersih Sdn. Bhd. with experience managing nation-wide teams and multi-million-ringgit projects. His background in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia inform his mindful but competitive approach.
Hairul Nizam is fuelled by his passion for well-oiled productive machine. He considers himself a ‘forever student’, eager to build on his experience and stay in tune with the latest technologies and opportunities. His hunger for knowledge and determination to turn information into action has contributed to his success at Daya Bersih and its parent company, IIUM Holdings Sdn Bhd, where he ran the Facility Management of the world renowned International Islamic University of Malaysia.
Beside the university and its sister campuses, Hairul Nizam leads the company to venture in the external markets, with distinguished clients such as Petronas, Gas Malaysia and Proton. Meanwhile, he vastly improved the productivity of his team by implementing strategic project management methods such as computerized maintenance management system and the nation’s first Syariah Compliance Facility Management System.
Hairul Nizam believes persistence and smart-work (as oppose to hard work) are the key to success – a tenet he lives out though his career from the early days of Johnson Control (M) Sdn Bhd. Through IIUM Properties Sdn Bhd. Hairul Nizam is currently leading the IIUM Holdings’ Infrastructure & Services Division to greater heights and always welcomes new challenges.
